The District Magistrate Court in Agona Swedru has charged a 29-year-old man to a tune of GHC 1000 for stripping a woman naked in public during a fight.
The convict, identified as Maxwell Adzeame, was charged after the judge declared that he had disgraced the complainant with his actions, despite minimum provocation.

The complainant accused the 29-year-old man, who works as an internet café operator, of invading her shop, strangling and manhandling her, before eventual stripping her naked in front of her workers.
The victim narrated that she had earlier warned the convict to stop sending her workers on errands without her notice – a decision that did not sit well with him (Maxwell).
The convict then decided to pick up a fight with the complainant, and ended up reducing her to public ridicule by stripping her naked during their altercation.
Delivering his judgment, His WorshipIsaac Apeatu declared that Maxwell had no right to strip the complainant naked, insisting the attack was unprovoked.

The judge, therefore, ordered the convict to pay a sum of GHC 1000 to the complainant as compensation for the damage caused to her reputation.
He added that the accused “was only interested in provoking the complainant into a fight so that he could beat her and do something worse to humiliate her”, therefore he was guilty.
